Meet Our EPA Accredited Lead Trainer

Kim Metcalf - Principal, Riverbend Environmental

Kim Metcalf is an environmental scientist.  She has both BS and MS degree in Environmental Health Science

from the University of Georgia.  In fact, Kim was the first recipient of a MSEH in the state of Georgia and has

four articles based on her master’s research published in peer reviewed journals. 

Kim has worked as a regulator performing site inspections in industrial settings for Georgia Power Company,

The Southern Company and Southwire Company.  Additionally, she has worked as an environmental

consultant for A.T. Kearny. During her days at Georgia Power Company, Kim worked hand-in-hand with the

Industrial Hygiene group developing sample plans, obtaining environmental samples and analyzing results. 

She works frequently on proactive environmental programs, such as pollution prevention and waste reduction.    

Kim holds many environmental certifications including Certified Environmental Auditor, Registered Environmental Manager, Level 1B Certified Erosion and Sedimentation Inspector, Level II Certified Erosion and Sedimentation Plan Designer, Level I & Level II Erosion Trainer with the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission.  She also is a Certified Professional in Erosion & Sediment Control (CPESC) and a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Certified Lead Inspector.  All of her certifications require continuing education and she regularly participates in external training programs. 

(On a personal note, Kim is the mother of four children and is married to her high school sweetheart.  She resides in Athens, Georgia and spends her free time on Lake Lanier with her family.)
